Rublev Colours Lemon Ochre is a bright, transparent yellow earth pigment made from natural goethite (PY43) sourced from quarries in northern Italy. This is a concentrated natural ochre that produces clean, luminous yellows in tints and washes while keeping the earthy stability and mixing behaviour that painters expect from true iron oxide pigments.
Lemon Ochre is prized for its permanence and versatility across painting mediums. It mixes cleanly with other pigments, stays stable in blends, and performs well in oil, tempera, watercolour, acrylic, fresco, and grounds. Use it to create glowing highlights, sunlit landscape passages, warm underpainting, natural greens when mixed with blues, and soft yellow neutrals that do not look artificial. As a natural earth, it is highly lightfast and does not fade in daylight.
