Description

Rublev Colours Dry Pigments - Titanium White is a premium rutile titanium dioxide (TiO2) pigment formulated for maximum whiteness, brightness, and opacity. Known as Pigment White 6 (PW 6), Titanium White has the highest hiding power of any white pigment used in artists’ materials and the coatings industry, making it the go-to choice for strong coverage, clean highlights, and brilliant tints.

Rublev’s Titanium White is an R2 grade rutile pigment produced by the chloride process and refined to a fine, uniform particle size for reliable dispersion and consistent colour. Its exceptionally high refractive index (rutile n = 2.72) gives it outstanding light-scattering ability, which translates to strong opacity and bright, neutral whites that mask the substrate beneath more effectively than other whites. It produces crisp, clean tints with coloured pigments and is suitable for oil, solvent, and water-borne paint systems, including outdoor applications.

This titanium white is surface treated with alumina, silica, and zirconia compounds to support dispersibility and weather resistance. It is chemically inert, highly lightfast, and generally compatible with other pigments and common binders in oil, acrylic, and watercolour paint making.
