Description

Rublev Colours Verona Green Earth is a genuine natural green earth pigment made from the mineral celadonite (PG23), sourced from deposits in northern Italy near the historic Veronese green earth sources. This classic terre verte has a softly complex character that can range from bluish green to olive green undertones depending on natural mineral content, making it a favourite for traditional palettes and naturalistic colour mixing.

Verona Green Earth is valued for its stability and subtlety. It is widely used for verdaccio style underpainting and for cooling and neutralising flesh tones, shadows, and landscapes without overpowering surrounding colours. Because it is a true mineral pigment, it mixes smoothly into a wide range of binders and is known for excellent permanence. It is also a practical mixing pigment for greys, muted greens, and atmospheric passages where you want depth without intense chroma.
