Description

Rublev Colours Dry Pigments - Diarylide Yellow is a high-performance red-shade yellow that delivers warm, saturated colour with strong tinting strength and reliable durability. Pigment Yellow 83 (PY 83 / C.I. 21108) is a synthetic organic diarylide (disazo) pigment widely used in professional paint making, printing inks, plastics, and coatings because it offers better solvent and migration resistance than many monoazo yellows.

This is a rich, reddish-yellow that performs beautifully in mixing and glazing, giving clean warm oranges, golden greens, and strong warm tints. In artist paint formulations it is often chosen as a lead-free alternative to reddish chrome yellows, producing bold warm yellows without the heavy metal chemistry of historical chrome pigments. Its higher molecular weight helps improve bleed resistance and thermal stability, making it a dependable pigment for both studio work and demanding applications.

Diarylide Yellow has a relatively high oil demand, which is useful to know when mulling or formulating: it requires about 58 ml of linseed oil per 100 g to form a coherent paste. Once properly wetted and dispersed, it produces smooth, even colour and excellent chroma.
