Rublev Artists Oil Vermilion (Series 10, 50ml – Code 508) is a powerful, historic red valued since antiquity for its unmistakable intensity and coverage. This colour is based on synthetic vermilion—the modern equivalent of the natural mineral cinnabar—made from Chinese vermilion produced using a traditional “dry process” recipe, then ground into pure linseed oil with no waxes or stabilisers added.

On the palette, Vermilion is opaque, smooth-grained, and highly tinting, making it ideal when you need a clean, authoritative red that holds its own in mixtures. It lays down with excellent body and produces convincing tints when mixed with titanium white—perfect for warm highlights, accents, and controlled colour temperature shifts.
